Two Events, One Weekend: A Corporate Summer Carnival in Ipswich and a Wedding in Alnwick

One weekend in August 2026 perfectly captured everything we love about what we do. On the Friday and Saturday of the same August weekend, we delivered two completely different bespoke Scalextric hire experiences at opposite ends of the country: a full-scale corporate summer carnival for Herrco in Ipswich on the Friday, and a fully branded wedding reception for Callum and Ashlee in Alnwick, Northumberland on the Saturday.

Different audiences, different settings, different briefs — and the same result. A packed grid, a buzzing room, and guests who kept coming back to the track all day long. Herrco Summer Carnival — Ipswich

On the Friday, Herrco threw a full-scale summer carnival for all their staff at their Ipswich headquarters — and we were brought in to anchor the entertainment with a bespoke Scalextric circuit. The carnival had everything: dodgems, a coffee truck, an ice cream van, a burger van, a bar, inflatable games and candy floss. Right in the middle of it all, our track ran from 12pm through to 5pm — five solid hours of head-to-head racing that gave the whole carnival a competitive focal point.

What makes a corporate summer party work is giving people something to actively do together, rather than just stand and watch. The Scalextric track turned a great staff event into a genuinely memorable one — colleagues who'd never have otherwise interacted were soon goading each other into a rematch. Huge congratulations to Jo, who set the fastest lap of the day and walked away crowned the Herrco Summer Carnival champion. 🏆

Mr & Mrs Shepherd — Alnwick, Northumberland

The following day, several hundred miles north, we were in Alnwick for Callum and Ashlee's wedding. We entertained their guests from 2pm right through to 9pm with a fully branded Scalextric experience — and Callum had opted for our extra branding option, which meant a custom 3D-printed start/finish gantry and bespoke 'Mr & Mrs Shepherd' signage running right through the track. Every detail was built around the couple.

The numbers tell the story: 1,135 laps completed across the afternoon and evening, with guests of every age gravitating back to the grid again and again. The competition was fierce all day — and huge congratulations to Elliott, who set the fastest lap of the wedding at an incredible 6.260 seconds. 🏁

As the evening light faded over Northumberland, our new trackside floodlights lit up the circuit — and the whole setup looked absolutely spectacular.
