3,205 laps. That's the number that tells you everything you need to know about what happened at Lydden Hill in June 2026 — and about just how powerful Scalextric hire at car shows can be when the setup, the brand, and the moment align perfectly.
We were incredibly proud to represent Scalextric officially at the Lydden Legend Festival — one of the UK's most celebrated rallycross and motorsport heritage events — for the official launch of one of the most anticipated new Scalextric releases in years.
Lydden Hill is no ordinary motorsport venue. It's the historic birthplace of rallycross in the UK — a circuit steeped in motorsport heritage, owned and made famous by the legendary Pat Doran. The Lydden Legend Festival celebrates that heritage, drawing fans, collectors, and motorsport enthusiasts from across the country for a weekend of cars, stories, and spectacle.
It's exactly the kind of car show Scalextric hire environment where an interactive, immersive racing activation can make a real impact — and the brief for this particular event couldn't have been more special.
The centrepiece of the weekend was the official launch of Scalextric's highly anticipated new model: Pat Doran's legendary Ford RS200, affectionately known to rallycross fans as 'Rosie'. This iconic car — one of the most celebrated in British rallycross history — was being immortalised in miniature by Scalextric, and Lydden Hill was the only place in the world this launch could have happened.
Our role was to build a bespoke, fully themed interactive Scalextric circuit that would put the new model at the heart of the festival experience — showcasing it to fans in a way that was interactive, engaging, and worthy of the car's legendary status.

We designed and built the circuit from scratch around the Lydden Hill Legends theme. The setup featured:
3,205 laps across the weekend. The circuit barely stopped.

The weekend's ultimate highlight arrived when British rallycross star Liam Doran — son of Pat Doran, and the man who now drives the real-world 'Rosie' in competition — came to our grid to sign the very first boxes of the new model.
Liam Doran is one of the most exciting talents in British rallycross. The sight of him signing the first production boxes of the car that carries his family's name — at Lydden Hill, the circuit his father made legendary — was a genuinely moving piece of motorsport history. For the fans who were there to witness it, it was the kind of moment that makes a car show unforgettable.
It also perfectly illustrated why Scalextric activations at car shows and motorsport events work so powerfully. The model, the circuit, the brand, and the moment all came together around one interactive focal point that connected fans directly to the car, the family, and the heritage behind it.

The Lydden Hill activation is one of the clearest examples we've delivered of why Scalextric hire for car shows is such a powerful tool for brand activations, product launches, and motorsport festivals.
Car show visitors don't just want to look at vehicles — they want to feel connected to them. An interactive Scalextric circuit lets fans race a miniature version of the car they've admired for years. That tactile, competitive experience creates a deeper emotional connection to the model and the brand than any static display ever could.
At busy car shows and motorsport festivals, standing out is a genuine challenge. A live, operating Scalextric circuit draws crowds naturally — the movement, the sound, the competition, and the visual spectacle attract attention from across a busy event site. Visitors don't walk past; they stop, watch, and join in.
Car shows attract families, collectors, hardcore enthusiasts, and casual visitors. Scalextric works for all of them. Children race with the same intensity as adults. Lifelong rallycross fans race alongside visitors who simply stumbled across the circuit. The competitive element — live timing, fastest laps, leaderboards — keeps engagement high across the full diversity of the crowd.
Product launches, new model reveals, and brand activations at car shows need a centrepiece that holds attention and creates lasting memories. A bespoke, themed Scalextric circuit — designed specifically around the launch, the brand, and the occasion — does exactly that. At Lydden Hill, the circuit transformed a product launch into a full interactive brand experience that 3,205 laps of racing helped deliver.
