The reality is that there isn't a wrong answer.
Both systems are brilliant, and both have something different to offer. We've spent countless hours racing both over the years, but when it came to building the tracks we use for Scalextric hire events around the UK, there was only ever going to be one choice for us — Scalextric Arc Pro Digital.
That doesn't mean analogue is outdated. Far from it.
For many of us, analogue is where it all started.
Christmas morning. Two controllers. Two cars. One sibling who always seemed to have the faster lane.

One of our favourite moments happens at almost every event we run.
Two drivers are side by side heading towards a lane changer.
One commits.

The cars swap positions by inches and suddenly the crowd behind the barriers erupts because they've just watched a genuine overtake.

Digital adds those little moments that make people forget they're racing 1:32 scale cars.

We'll always have a soft spot for analogue.
Honestly?
It depends what you're looking for.
If your idea of a perfect evening is a couple of cars circulating a classic layout with family, analogue will probably make you smile every bit as much as it did twenty years ago.
But if you enjoy close racing, overtaking, tactics and the unpredictability that comes with six drivers all fighting for the same piece of tarmac, Scalextric digital opens up a completely different world.
It feels less like a toy.
It feels much more like motorsport.
One of the best things about Scalextric is that there isn't a right way to enjoy it.
